Consumer health data privacy policy
Draft, awaiting legal review. The final wording may change before launch.
This policy covers consumer health data as Washington's My Health My Data Act, Nevada's consumer health data law and similar state laws define it. Christina is run by Placeholder LLC, a limited liability company registered in California.
The consumer health data we collect, and why
We collect it only with your explicit consent, which we ask for with its own checkbox, when you sign up or later in the app. You can have an account without giving it.
- Your conversations with Christina, and their summaries. What you write can reveal how you feel or other information about your health, and Christina's replies respond to it. We use your conversations to hold them with you, to let you read them again, and to continue where you left off.
- What Christina remembers about you. Notes drawn from your conversations, which may include what seems to affect your wellbeing. We use them so that Christina remembers what matters to you.
- Your mood entries, paths and session history. How you said you felt, the subjects you work on with Christina, and when you talked. We use them to show you your own patterns and to continue your work.
- Safety records. That crisis resources were shown to you, and when. We use them to help keep you safe and to check that our crisis protocol works.
Where it comes from
- From you, when you write to Christina.
- From Christina's systems, which write the summaries, the notes and the safety records based on your conversations.
What we share, and with whom
We do not share consumer health data with any third party or affiliate, and we do not sell it.
Your rights, and how to use them
You have the right to:
- confirm whether we collect, share or sell your consumer health data, and access it, including a list of every third party and affiliate we have shared it with or sold it to;
- withdraw your consent to our collecting and sharing it;
- have it deleted, including from our backups.
You can withdraw your consent at any time in your settings, without closing your account: that deletes all your consumer health data at once, after offering you a copy. You can also delete your account with everything in it. For any other request, write to contact@christina.app from the email address on your account. We answer within 45 days, or tell you within that time if we need up to 45 more. Answers are free, up to twice a year.
If we decline a request, you can appeal by replying to our answer. Within 45 days of receiving your appeal, we tell you in writing what we decided and why. If we deny it, you can complain to the attorney general of your state; in Washington, online.
